Official USCG Answer & Rule Citation
Correct Answer: Option B — two masthead lights in a vertical line instead of either the forward or after masthead lights
Rule 24(a)(i) requires a power-driven vessel towing astern to display two masthead lights in a vertical line instead of the forward masthead light. If the length of the tow, measured from the stern of the towing vessel to the after end of the tow, exceeds 200 meters, three lights are required.
