BOTH INTERNATIONAL & INLAND Which signal is NOT a distress signal?

Official USCG Answer & Rule Citation

Correct Answer: Option B — A Basket hanging in the rigging

Annex IV of the COLREGS lists recognized distress signals. A basket hanging in the rigging is not included in this list. Distress signals include red flares, continuous fog signal sounding, or the November over Charlie flag signal, all of which indicate a vessel is in grave danger.
