Official USCG Answer & Rule Citation

Correct Answer: Option D — a diamond shape when the length of the tow is 200 meters or less

Rule 24(g) mandates that an inconspicuous, partly submerged vessel or object being towed shall exhibit a diamond shape at the forward end and at the after end if the length of the tow exceeds 200 meters. If the tow is 200 meters or less, only the diamond shape is required.
