Polaris azimuth is approximately 000° True. With a bearing of 002°pgc, the gyro error is 2°W. Since the vessel heads 316°pgc and 329°psc, the compass error is 13°W. Subtracting the 15°W variation from the 13°W compass error yields a deviation of 0.5°E, following standard compass error correction procedures.
