Correct Answer: Option A — sound one short blast and hold course and speed
Rule 34(a) Inland requires that when vessels are in sight of one another and meeting, the vessel proposing the maneuver shall sound one short blast. If the other vessel agrees, she shall also sound one short blast. Both vessels then maintain their course and speed as agreed by the signal.
