Correct Answer: Option C — Check the air compressors to be sure they are operating correctly. Then inform the Captain on the Bridge that the starting air supply is not keeping up with demand and start air pressure should be monitored closely during the reminder of the maneuver.

Heavy maneuvering depletes starting air faster than compressors can recover. The engineer must verify compressor operation, notify the bridge of the low-pressure condition, and maintain vigilance over remaining air reserves without prematurely abandoning bridge control.
