Under Inland Navigation Rules, for the condition where 'A vessel may use any sound or light signals to attract the attention of another vessel as long as', the correct requirement is: 'the signal cannot be mistaken for a signal authorized by the Rules'. This standard ensures clear navigational intent and collision avoidance.

Rule 24(a) of the Navigation Rules requires a power-driven vessel towing when the length of tow exceeds 200 meters to exhibit a black diamond shape where it can best be seen to provide adequate daytime warning to approaching traffic regarding restricted maneuverability.

Under COLREGS Rule 24, long tows exceeding 200 meters demand high visibility during daylight hours. A black diamond shape must be exhibited where it can best be seen, signaling to mariners that the towing vessel and its tow have severely limited maneuverability.

Under Rule 30, an anchored vessel exhibits an all-round white light forward (and aft if 50m+) by night, and one black ball forward by day.

Under Rule 34(d), when vessels in sight of one another are in doubt whether sufficient action is being taken to avoid collision, the vessel in doubt must immediately sound at least 5 short and rapid blasts on the whistle.

COLREGS Rule 25(d)(ii) permits vessels under 7 meters in length, including small vessels under oars, to exhibit a combined lantern housing sidelights and stern light as an exception due to their extremely limited physical size and electrical capacity.
